Choosing the best CPU for my needs.

Ok, here's the deal: I'm going to build my very first PC anytime soon. I'm going to do some gaming (not in ultra high settings necessarily), programming, picture editing and every day computing in general. I'm on a budget £500-600 and I don't expect getting a lightning fast build with it. My problem is choosing a CPU that should be best bang for buck, within my budget and list of needs (things I'm going to do). I've been looking AMD's FX-4300 or 6300 because they're cheap but can handle some gaming in reasonable detail, or Intel's i5-4430, 4440 or 4460.

What would you suggest? Thank you!

Solution

Seems like a solid build.

@Computersloeber, the FX-6300 is a weaker version of an i3.
