Hey thanks for the responses guys!
Im from Canada but moving back to australia so prices in canada are a bit more than on this site.

As for the RAM, ya ill be using 2x4GB

As for the H67, i read somewhere that H67 can now overclock, its a new release from Intel.. or is that only for haswell refresh CPU?

Thanks shortstuff, ill browse through that now.

"ASUS today announced that its H97, H87, B85 and H81 Series motherboards are able to overclock the latest Intel Pentium Anniversary Edition processor (G3258), 4th-generation Intel Core K Series ('Haswell') and new 4th-generation Intel Core K Series ('Haswell Refresh') processors."

hmm thats asus.

Soooo any suggestion on an Asus board + wifi? maybe 2 separate cards then...

That's false - only the H97 motherboards can overclock, and really only the Asus H97 motherboards can overclock - they're the only manufacturer that has been able to unlock the H series so far. H67 is quite a few generations old now and not worth purchasing especially when the i5-4690 and i7-4790 are far better.

Why would you spend $75 on a GPU from two generations ago? I don't get that one, if that's where you're going to save money, that's not a good idea. And you don't need a HDMI cable - your monitor will come with a DVI D-Link sub and that's better than using an HDMI cable.

Try something like this for $1000:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($219.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($124.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($76.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($52.92 @ Amazon)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 770 2GB Superclocked ACX Video Card ($324.99 @ NCIX US)
Case: Corsair 300R ATX Mid Tower Case ($59.99 @ NCIX US)
Power Supply: SeaSonic S12G 550W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply ($74.99 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer ($23.99 @ Amazon)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($89.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $1078.83
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Then you can add whatever monitor, keyboard and mouse you want.

Sorry Short, i as on the Ca. pc picker site then came to this and forgot i was now USA based forum, my bad,

I have run that list with yours on Canada and "memory express" as the retailer and they dont have a few things there so im just trying to fine tune it all, but i appreicate the help!
Im thnking gigabyte mobo, but then going for wifi card.

May even drop the K... even go 4440 i5 and then go for a H67 or am i really screwing the gaming abilities now?

Not necessarily - if you go for an i5-4440 the only thing you lose is the ability to overclock. Otherwise that's about it for your budget. Plus you'll need an H87 motherboard if you get that processor - H67 won't work.

Hmmm well if i dont overclock he wont need the Fan extra...

Meh, i think ill stick to the OC

Just a matter of finding a mobo i can get from Memory express.

I lvoe asrock (i have extreme 6 in my own PC) but they dont sell it

Here's another build to consider. I had to drop the SSD to get under budget.

Headphones: *Logitech G230 Headset ($49.99 @ Amazon Canada)
Total: $1372.16
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
*Lowest price parts chosen from parametric criteria

ShortStuff, ive tried to keep the SSD, but havent incluced a screen in this price yet.

I have changed my preference to Memory express which is close to me. Some things are available via memory express even though part picker says they arent.
I would love to order online Newegg, but im leaving to Australia in 1.5 weeks and want to just buy and make and not worry if postage is going to be late

I do need to add a wifi card in too though :S

For $1500 with peripherals you could definitely do better than a single R9-270, and the Hyper 212 Evo is a wasted purchase if you're not overclocking, try something like this with overclocking and a GTX 770:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($263.78 @ DirectCanada)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($32.21 @ DirectCanada)
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 EXTREME4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($154.75 @ Vuugo)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory ($85.54 @ DirectCanada)
Storage: Crucial M550 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($97.99 @ Amazon Canada)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.97 @ DirectCanada)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 770 2GB Superclocked ACX Video Card ($369.98 @ Newegg Canada)
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 Blackout with Window ATX Mid Tower Case ($99.99 @ NCIX)
Power Supply: EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($99.99 @ NCIX)
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer ($14.99 @ Memory Express)
Total: $1279.19
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Hey Gunit, thanks for getting involved.

My issue is that those are prices from NewEgg. I HAVE to buy from memory express due to shipping and time constraints which puts that build at 1400 before monitor, headset, OS, keyboard (another $300-400)

So that build would end up being a $1700 ish

it also doesnt have a wireless card, another $40

The build I posted in my last reply is with Canadian prices from Canadian resellers. I generally don't include accessories or peripherals in my builds since most of those things are personal preference items. You don't need to pay $40 for a Wifi adapter, I just got one from Newegg last week for $14.

Ive got it in my basket for Memory express (with the giga H87N-wifi board) all for $1600 but that is blowing the budget....

Thanks for the continued help Gunit

Ill post the scren shot of the basket

Yes the canadian stuff is correct, but I am building for a friend and leaving to Australia in 1 week which means if it takes too long to post he is going to be without a PC and he doesnt know how to build.
I find post in canada SO BAD that i didnt want to risk it.

"The build currently blows the budget prob by $100... but im trying to get him there."

You could try a simpler / cheaper but still very good Micro ATX build for your friend:

That's not the place I would save money - the GTX 660 is a generation old now and there's definitely better GPUs you can get for the same price.

cool, so the 750 would be a better idea? $200 is really the limit i have no with the build
So no overclocking, SSD, HDD + everyhting else and i have $200 Canadian (at memory express) to spend on a GPU.
