I recently purchased Borderlands 2. I have an i5-4570 and a GTX 760. When I run the game on max, it run solid 90's then dip into the 40's and 20's in combat. Is it my PC just not strong enough for this or the game?

If you have every setting at max, you may want to turn down the AA setting to 2x or 4x AA instead of 8x. That said, you shouldn't be having trouble maxing BL2 with your CPU/GPU.

Yes. I will try that.

Supposedly, physx effects are very intensive. I've answered someone in another thread here which reported issues with a 780ti mainly in combat. Fps dipping as low as 45 with them at high.

I tested it with my ASUS R9 290x, so it should be obvious in my case, but I too had the same result. Try lowering those...

AA in Borderlands 2 is just FXAA, and it's practically no framerate drop.

Anyway, even considering the PhysX, it shouldn't be dropping that hard. My PC runs it better than that in combat, and it's weaker than his.

Yeah, I have a gtx 760 w/ a i5 2320 and it runs BL2 without any problems at max settings so he should have no problems.

Go into your Nvidia Control Panel and make sure PhysX is set to run on your GPU. Otherwise it might be getting offloaded to your CPU and killing the performance, like it would with an AMD card.
