Can I run a fan controller of a 12V AC adapter?

Solution
Hello,

By using a fan controller, you will never make that fan to spin again at its maximum speed because of the voltage drop. The difference will be minimal though (max. 5%, 1900RPM vs 2000RPM for example).

MIND YOU: As popatim said, your adapter WILL NOT WORK in this state and you'll have a very good chance to damage the fan and the controller. To convert AC to DC on that adapter you must add a rectifier diode, a capacitor and a 12V stabilizer.
