Stuck On The Grub Rescue Screen After Being An Idiot

Hello people, thank you for taking the time to help me. I was running low on space for Windows 8 (60gb left), and i had installed ubuntu with 400+ gb of space. I never really used ubuntu so i had a genius idea (or so it seemed at the time) Delete the Ubuntu Partition, Add to windows partition. except i couldn't add it to the windows partition. So i googled it. I was then told by google to use easeus boot master to add it to the windows partition. Except, I didn't actually uninstall ubuntu, so i got stuck at the grub rescue screen. BUT, the GENIUS makers of easus made the thing lock the hard drive until after the reboot. So the normal options to fix it don't work. Is there any way to save my stuff, or will i have to reformat the whole thing and start again?

"To solve the lock issue, we hope you can have a try to connect the disk to another machine as slave disk, then go to the original C partition to locate and delete the file "EPMBatch.ept" under Windows folder if it exists. After that, please connect the system disk back and boot from it. Then tell us the result.

And we want to remind you that file is hidden by default. So, please open 'My Computer', then choose 'Tools\Folder Options', Turn to 'View' page, check on 'Show hidden files and folders', uncheck 'Hide protected operating system files(Recommended)'. Then click "OK"."

Do you have your Win 8 media? If yes, boot from it then:

1)Click "Repair your computer"
2)Click "Troubleshoot" then "Advanced Options' then "command prompt"
3)At the command prompt type:
bootrec.exe /fixmbr

That should get your Windows back. If that works then we can try to fix your partition problem.

Thanks for your quick response. I CAN get the command prompt from my windows 8 usb open, the problem is, i can't use the CD command, because the desktop hdd was locked by easeuse (Not so easy now are you? HAHA I HAVE BROKEN YOU!)

Try booting a Linux DVD, the Arch Linux installer is a good one and reinstalling grub with the grub-install command, then install os-prober and configure grub with grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg this should work on a BIOS based system. For detailed information on how to do this see the grub page at the Arch Linux forums: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Grub . The Arch Linux forums are a great resource with written examples that apply to many distros, not just Arch.

Thanks a TON guys! I finally got it fixed :D I will select one of the random posts as the solution, so it will be answered. In case anyone else has this problem i will post what i did:

Created bootable Ubuntu disk (spent three hours trying to get windows to find it.... Then it turns out i formatted it ntfs instead of fat 32... My brain...)
used the try ubuntu button on usb boot
installed lilo
used lilo to refresh the mbr
restarted
used bootable windows 8 usb to open command prompt
put in command "BCDboot c:\windows /s c: /l en-us "
That's it
