I am thinking of getting the geforce gtx 750 or 750 ti. I have a Gigabyte GA-79LMT-S2. The only difference i see is the pci express on my board is 2.0 and both cards are 3.0 is that a problem or not?

Nope, not an issue; They're compatible with each other. You won't see a decrease in speed either, only high-end setups with multiple GPUs need more bandwidth than PCI-E 2.0 can offer.
