yesterday my house ran out of power for about 10 seconds, my laptop shut down and i restarted it, after turning it on i noticed that it was much slower, so i went to resource monitor and i found the cause, 4.5gb out of 8gb of ram were reserved for hardware nothing is integrated, except by the sound card the bios is shortened and is running the lastest version so, i ran out of ideas, you guys got any?

shut my pc down, removed one of the ram sticks and no luck...

which version OS do you have? 64bit or 32bit?
32 bit windows can only access 4gb in total so first it gathers up the hardware ram, like whats on your video card and motherbd, and then it will use your system ram to its 4gb limit. So it is entirely possible that 2.5gb is all thats left if you have a GPU with alot of ram on it.

i check that before, and both are working just fine, if i just leave one of them on, reserved for hardware drops to only 2.5 gb :(

thanks for all your care popatim, but i found the answer, looking around i check the amd vision engine, and for some reason it was reserving ram for the video card (even though is not integrated), unchecked the option, new start and problem solved, thanks again popatim ;)
