Hey guys, i'm trying to O.C. my A10-6800k to about 4.8 or so but when i use overdrive, set everything up and save it,then close out,it re-sets when i turn off my pc. I go into my bios and it's saying the stock 4.4GHz. Any insight as to what i'm doing wrong?

AMD Overdrive overclocks in software only, it cannot permanently set an overclock in the BIOS. You need to do that manually.

Software like overdrive is useful for finding your maximum stable speed at whatever voltage you are using, but after you find that it is recommended to set your actual CPU overclock settings in the BIOS.

Okay,i understand that part now. But when i go into my bios... it only lets me use the OC Genie MSI has on their boards. So it'll stay at the 4.4GHz but i manually cannot click or change the multiplier

I know its not in English, but this website looks to have pictures of the BIOS for your motherboard. Does it look to be the same?

It looks like you should have plenty of overclocking options aside from MSI's OC Genie (which I would choose not to use btw). MSI's A88X-G43 looks to be pretty high end, and most A88X chipset boards have good overclocking features. Even my Gigabyte mini-ITX A88X board has pretty good options.

It just doesn't manually let me OC in the bios. The multiplier isn't highlighted at all, just grayed out to where i can't click.

so in your BIOS, in the overclocking tab, the field called "Adjust CPU Ratio" (which defaults to auto) is greyed out?
