Okay, so I have a MSI 760 Hawk, and was looking to do an SLI configuration, but that idea got nixed once I realized that NewEgg didn't carry it anymore, so I thought about what I could do next. What I wanted to do was to see if I could get lower temps and perhaps a better overclock, so I looked at alternative cooling solutions. I bought the MSI 760 because it was the best one at the time (I looked at a lot of reviews and it consistently scored higher overclocks), but the cooling seems to have degraded. Windows always screams at me saying my graphics card is too warm (would you like to disable color scheme for better performance?), so I opened up afterburner to see if windows was just throwing a hissy fit. I noticed that while playing Civ 5, the temps were in the high 60's low 70's. I thought, wow, Civ 5 isn't that GPU intensive, is it? The same thing on Battlefield 4. High 60's low 70's. Some people might argue that those temps aren't technically high, but I have my PC in my room and prefer not to have to sleep in a hot box. I know better cooling solutions aren't going to reduce the heat output of the card, but a nice liquid cooler seems to have lowered the ambient temperature of my room after installing one for my CPU (Corsair H110). So that's were I am. Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.
