My computer set-up:

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/Lc9kXL

Shorter:
CPU : i5-4670K
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-z87-d3HP
GPU : Radeon R9 280x 3GB
PSU : Corsair 600W
OS : WIndows 8

These problems started recently. There's two phases to this problem.

1st phase: This was basically the start of my problem with this PC. Sometimes my PC would shut down randomly, the PSU would work but nothing would work except itself. I needed to cut down PSU power before it decided to light back on after a few times. I removed the PSU, then put it back in, connecting everything together. The PC worked again without doing that error.

Now phase 2: Shortly after, I noticed that often, my USB ports often completely shut down, and start again a few seconds after. That includes everything connected by USB : Mouse, Keyboard and headphones, to be more precise. This was annoying, but I could cope with.

The real problem is now that my PC just freezes during gameplay. It only does this when the computer is working in a game. On a very intensive game, it may happen under an hour. On a less intensive game, it happens 3-4 hours of playing . There's nothing I can do but hard reset the PC , but then the computer starts completely fine.

My temperatures never go over 70 Celsius, as well. At first I thought this was a PSU or GPU problem, and I couldn't figure for the life of me which. Now I'm starting to fear it may be a Motherboard problem.

I recently discovered that in my device manager, it notes that my SM controller bus drivers are non-existant. Might that be the solution? Or can you help me fix this very frustrating problem? Thank you for your help.

I'm going to test gaming with the SM drivers installed. If it still crashes, I will invest in a power supply that should work with the Haswell requirements.

If that works, solution goes to you, until then, others are welcome to poke around the problem.

Thank you for your help, and let's hope this fixes it.
