This is the budget gaming build that was recommended to me:

Quote:

CPU: AMD FX-6300
MB: ASRock 970-PRO3
RAM: 2x4GB DDR3 1600 G.skill Ripjaws
GPU: AMD R9 270
HDD: Western Digital Blue 500GB
Case/PSU: Thermaltake Versa H22 with a 500w PSU

Firstly, does this look OK? I want to play CS:GO, Arma III and BF4 on not-the-highest settings.

Issue with the PSU:
The R9 270 says it requires 500w. A user said on a forum that the power labels on Thermaltake's PSUs don't actually match the real power, that Thermaltake's 500w is actually around ~380w. So, what should I do here?

That PSU is trash. Replace it with an Antec, XFX, Seasonic 500w unit.

The rest of the build looks great.

Getting a separate case and PSU will put me over budget a bit - should i just go with any cheap case?

NEVER go cheap on the PSU, it is 1000% the single most important part of the PC. Cheap out on whatever it takes to get a good PSU.

Okay, I guess I'll go with:
Case: Cooler Master N300 $51
PSU: Silverstone Strider ST50F-ES $62

Any thoughts before I order all the parts?

YEs, the N300 is a micro-ATX case and your motherboard will not fit in it.

Look at the NZXT source 220. VERY good case. Alse the Corsair 200r/300r.

Change the PSU to an XFX 550w unit. That Silverstone is average at best quality.

Are you sure about the N300? The specs on the website say it fits microATX and ATX.

Is there something I'm missing?

I'm pretty limited where I buy from. I need a PO box and many places around here don't deliver to one. I'm also limited by budget.

The place I want to buy from doesn't have a XFX 550w but it does have these:

500W:
Corsair CMPSU-500CXv3

520W:
Antec Neo Eco 520C
Antec HCG-520

550W:
FSP Raider
Corsair CMPSU-VS550

What about any of them?

The best of the lot BY FAR is the Antec HCG-20. The rest are meh at best.

That is the new n300. I thought you mean the n200. MY bad.
