Ok so I'm not sure if I should turn off my power supply when my computer is off or not? I heard that if you do, the battery that holds the bios settings will die. I haven't changed any bios setting though anyways. Does the power supply really drain that much power? What does everyone think ?

I have mine plugged into a surge protector and I only turn the surge protector off.

Doesn't matter.

Btw blackbird I asked about the 550w power supply. I ended up returning it in favor of the 750W. I stayed with the same model however and it works great.

The motherboard battery lasts for about 10 years, if the computer is plugged in during the day when it is in use.

I turn off my surge protector every night since the power supply continues to draw power from the outlet and that will cost more in electricity over the course of 10 years than a replacement CR 2032 battery that is used to preserve the time and settings on the motherboard. A $4 CR 2032 battery will pay for itself in 40 days if you turn off the purge protector every night,
