How about this if you're looking for 600W http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-80PLUS-Bronze-Certified-100-B1-0600-KR/dp/B00EON40CS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404186089&sr=8-1&keywords=EVGA+600w

It has 49A on the 12v rail.

You don't need much power. Go for the XFX 550W core edition PSU. Has good amounts of watts and it's 44A on the single 12V Rail which more than enough for you. Having 550W will give the option to upgrade in the future without needing to buy a new PSU

If he does buy a 450W psu and they want to upgrade, they'll need a new PSU. I'm assuming they will upgrade in the future, but if he's not going to upgrade I definitely agree with you

But how overkill is 600w? Should i just get the 550w?

Because your build will barely pull 250w at max load.

If you're on a really low budget AMD is your best bet

AMD is better when on a budget... 8 core CPU vs 2 core CPU in the same budget is a no brainer

The FX 8350 is on par with the unlocked i5 processors and is ALOT cheaper than the i5's
