Why did all my games suddenly start lagging after I downloaded Motioninjoy?

I own a Sager NP8265 notebook (8gb DDR3 RAM, Nvidia Geforce 770 3GB, Intel I7 2.4 GHz) and it's been running monstrous games like Titanfall and Bioshock Infinite on high settings without a hitch ever since I got it...

That having said, I decided to download the Motioninjoy ds3 program to use a PS3 remote in order to play Dark Souls... Ever since I did, all of my games have suddenly been lagging (A LOT) to the point where I'm having frame rate issues playing Dota2 (come on, really?!?!).

The only noticeable point I can make is that when I downloaded the software, it consequently installed some junk on my PC, like a browser hijacker that I immediately removed from my programs. Basically, I got rid of all the crap that came with the DS3 tool except for the actual program, and that's when it hit the fan.

I actually had to re-format to get my PC to handle games again... I still want to be able to use a controller to play games though, but I'm scared to download another DS3 tool.... What should I do?

Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!!!

Solution
1) NEVER use Motioninjoy. bloody thing has crap load of junk you sure as hell want to avoid.

2) use SCP Driver Package or 360CE. best choice though is to use a 360 controller if the ergonomics doesn't bother you, & paired with Xpadder for games that does not support joypads (i.e; Mass Effect 1).

EDIT: do note however Xpadder is not a reliable way to "emulate" KB+M to controllers for games with no joypad support, so consider getting used to KB+M.

Thank you for your input, Hazle.

After some research, I decided to download Motioninjoy again, but only to keep the driver. Then, I chucked it and downloaded the Better DS3 tool.

Best of both world: now I have an offline DS3 program AND I don't have to deal with Motioninjoy's vicious bloatware. Sucks that I had to reformat my PC, though...

MiJ is very well known to be difficult to remove, & comes packaged with malware loading your browser to sh.com when opened, last i checked anyway.

i'd link you to a wiki page for help, but considering it's a wiki regarding a topic not allowed here in the forums, can't do much there.
