Hello There, I recently have had trouble with my BT Homehub3 Model A Software version 4.7.5.1.83.8.94.1.11. Nothing will connect to it apart from my Acer Aspire 5742Z Laptop and XBOX 360S. All wired ethernet devices function normally.

The problem is, nothing will connect on to my local network. I have tried resetting the router, changing the security level on the password to WPA2, and changing the password completely.

The devices that will not connect are Nokia Lumia 820, iPhone 5, iPad 2, and occasionally my XBOX 360S.

My ISP is BT Infinity (BT Broadband) (Fibre Optic)
At the current time, only 3 devices have managed to get onto the network:
Wired PC,
Acer Aspire 5742Z
XBOX 360 (intermittent connection problem).

Normally the network functions normally with around 10 devices connected simultaneously.

If it helps, the wifi light on my BT Homehub3 keeps turning off and coming back on intermittently. I do not know the reason for this.

All devices are stating that they cannot reach the network, but no reason or error given.

If anyone can help, I would be grateful, and if any more information is needed, please ask! :)

Many Thanks,
James

Sounds like your router may be defect. How old is it? Try exchanging it if the warranty is still on it.
Otherwise try a firmware update if there is one availible.

By my experience i usually see routers/modems starting to having problems after around 3 years of usage. Some may run longer or shorter but im just saying that i´ve exchanged a whole bunt of routers being around 3 years.
