Changed Computer case - Freezing/Hanging forever - Hardware fault?

Hello,

So my story is I have had this build for about 3/4 years now. Working fine for years. Yesterday I fancied a change and bought a new case. I cleaned/reinstalled everything into my new case. No hardware changes internally.

Now here is the problem, the system boots and just freezes randomly. No blue screen, just freezes on the screen, unable to do anything until I hard shutdown (holding the power button). The freeze happens randomly - during startup or after 15mins. More quickly if I stress test!

First I thought something is not installed correctly. So I checked everything - still the same issue.

I then went about testing every component:

-Removed GPU and used mono integrated graphics - Issue still occurred.

-Removed all the ram apart from one stick - Issue still occurred

-Tested each stick individually using memtest86+ (bootable USB). This also froze on testing every time with each stick of ram. So this lead me to believe it can't be a windows/hdd issue as it happens when booting into memtest!

-Removed the Mobo from the case and tested again. (I thought maybe something was causing it to short in the case) - Issue still occurred

-Removed PSU, cleaned it out again, tested again. - Issue still occurred!

So this leads me to believe this is a PSU or Motherboard issue, do any of you agree? I am leaning towards PSU at the moment as it freezes quicker when under stress. My thinking I damaged one of the two during my cleaning.

Is there anything else you can think of to test? I am currently trying to get my hands on a psu/voltage tester.

Any Ideas would be fab!

Thanks in advance.

Quick Spec:
8GB RAM
5770 GPU
Phenon 955 CPU
Window 7
850W PSU

Sorry I wasn't very clear - Basically it can boot into windows if it doesn't freeze by that point. Once in Windows I stress test and it freezes. Sometimes it can freeze on startup screen "starting windows". It also freezes running memtest.

Yeah I am using the stock cooler - I'm getting temps around 35-40C, I think that's okay.

I'm stumped :pt1cable:

Sure here is the list as best to my memory:
4GB DDR3 hyperblu Kingston
4GB DDR3 xms3 corsair
XFX ATI Radeon 5770
AMD Phenom x4 955
Asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB3
Seagate 500GB HDD
Kingston SSDNOW300V 60GB
PowerColor 750W PSU

I just launched the bios to check the voltages and it froze in the bios after 2 mins, GAH! The voltages seemed fine.
3.3V - 3.336V
5V - 5.102V
12V - 12.120V

This is becoming annoying :/

I did a basic check of the PSU using a multimeter - seemed okay (I am not expert) I just checked a few connections during the freeze and they seems about right.

What are the odds that my motherboard is faulty. Would it just not work at all if it was broken?

Is there are tests I can do specifically for the Mobo?
