I'm looking to put together a pc for office use and would like a solution with on-board graphics and want to go with an AMD APU which I believe requires an FM2+ socket? I have to admit I'm really confused as to what to go for and keep being given totally conflicting advice. In terms of requirements. I need it to support 2133MHz RAM without overclocking and also also have a USB 3.0 header. I'm not sure about form factor but probably micro-ATX I guess.

Would welcome any constructive suggestions for a suitable combination of cpu and motherboard.

The A10-7700K will work in that motherboard but understand if you think it is too much for running office apps. especially since it costs 2.5 times the mobo itself. I linked it because you stated you were looking for a FM2+ socket cpu.

A more cost effective APU would be this one; AMD A4-6300 Richland Dual-Core 3.7GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) Socket FM2. This is a dual core CPU with an integrated Radeon HD 8370D gpu; plenty of juice for office and usual desktop usage.

The ASUS A78M-A and A4-6300 would be a nice combo...

The ASUS A78M-A and A4-6300 would be a nice combo for an office machine for around $130USD.

Also, here the link to the CPU support page for the ASUS A78M-A motherboard so you can see which other APU's you can fit into that mobo. Both the A10-7700K and the A4-6300 are listed on the support page for the A78M-A.

Hope this helps!
