Do you need 4-way sli for 1080p or is 2-way enough,
If so, should I stick with getting a Maximus VII Ranger or go with a more expensive motherboard with 4-way sli support?
All answers appreciated!
Thanks

You don't need SLI period for 1080P a 770 is great for 1080p and a 780 or 780 ti is overkill. Just get one GPU, less heat less noise and less issues. You could use a 780 or 290 for 1080P and run everything on ultra that you want.

You don't need an SLI setup at all if you have a GTX 760 / Radeon R9-280X and are gaming at 1080. SLI would become more of a requirement if you had the same GPU's and were gaming at 1440p or greater.

You don't need SLI for a single 1080p monitor, just go with a single GTX 780Ti. A pair of those in 2-way SLI should be able to run games across 3 1080p monitors smoothly.
