I've just tried unnstalling and checking for software changes as was first suggested to me. However when it was installed again it cam up unknown device again with the same mesage. This was despite the fact the driver software was successfly installed. Also as well as the device not recognised malfunction message when I checked for faults there was a code 43 message saying Windows had stopped the device because it reported problems so that hasn't worked. However from what I've read a code 43 is a driver problem.
The other thing I haven't tried yet is getting a card reader for my camera. I'm unemployed and can't afford to spend a fortune on things like that. I don't know how much they are. Also the card in my camera won't fit into my usb ports on my computer as it's too big.
I believe you can download software for your device. Mine is a Fujifilm camera and I don't know how much it would cost to do that. There must be a way of sorting this problem that is guarenteed and doesn't cost too much. Even £50 is a lot of money to me.
Has anyone any other suggestions? If so I'd be very grateful.
