Best cpu choice for this build?

Hey, so i'm looking to upgrade my cpu im my pc right now, specs will be down bellow. I just wanted to know what the best possible option was.

Specs:
Cpu: AMD A4 5300
Gpu:XFX HD 6950 2gb
Ram: 8gb kingston HyperX 1600mhz
Psu: 650w Coolermaster (forgot the model)
Motherboard: Asus A55M-E

You'd at least want an r9 270/660 ti or higher, but I'm fairly certain your PSU wouldn't handle it.

The 6950 is probably okay for now, but that CPU is old. For FM2+, an Athlon X4 750K would be fine.

you better see how good your cpu performance..if your graphics card perforamance is too high than your cpu it will be bottleneck

Yeah, the 6950 should be alright for gaming in medium/high settings. Just letting him know what cards if he was going to upgrade.

The X4 750k is the best way to go and is pretty inexpensive; no other options with a fm2 board.

Yes, it is. It should not bottleneck that 6950 much if at all, especially if you OC.

An Athlon X4 750K or 760K would be a good option. For the GPU, an R9 270 is a great idea, and if you can afford it, the R9 280.

Yes the 760k is as good as it gets. In most games it is close to an fx6300 in performance.

Yes, it should be fine. You won't be playing AAA games at 1080p 60fps at ultra, but mostly high settings should be attainable.

I've looked in to getting the x4 760k, but I've noticed that there is more than one model of the same cpu. (athlon x4 760k black) Just wanting to know what model would be best to get?

It is the same CPU. All unlocked AMD CPUs are "Black Edition." They are not different.
