Hi,
So, suddenly my TV has stopped working as a second monitor after months and months of working fine. My machine crashed the other day and since then it has not been working properly When I boot up, the booting screen and sequences DO appear on both screens, except the TV is blue tinted. Then when Windows boots, the TV clicks to "Unsupport" mode and the regular monitor works fine. I have messed with resetting defaults in Catalyst, changing resolution etc. It is set to the correct resolution and nothing I do can get the screen to recognize the signal. I am connected via HDMI. Help

When your PC crashed, what did you do? Did you have to rebuild Windows from scratch? Do you have a new motherboard/video card now?

I would look at the video driver and the refresh rate you're sending to the TV. Make sure it's set to "Extend my display" to that TV.

When I first experienced the crash, I was rebooting the machine after it had been powered off for three days (I was away). Both screens turned on however the 40' had a blue tint. Then, when it got to Windows, after I entered my password to login, the Tv clicked to "Unsupport". Then while it was loading up desktop, it froze completely and restarted itself. I got a message saying failed to Boot because of overclocking. So I restarted, entered Award Bios, and restored fail-safe defaults(it WAS Overclocked ) Now all is working fine except for the TV monitor. And yes Ive checked to refresh rate along with resolution settings and everything seems to be set correctly, as it was before when everything worked fine. How could resetting my OC cause this? Especially after checking settings in Catalyst and all my drivers etc.

I have to ask the simple part as well - is the cable slightly loose? With a VGA cable, you can often get a cyan- or blue-tinted screen if the cable is not fully seated at either side.

Even if it's not a VGA (i.e., it's DVI or HDMI), I would try dis-connecting both ends of the cable, start your computer & have it sitting ready at the desktop, and then reconnect the cable firmly at both sides. See if the TV is then recognized properly. You can even try a different input on the TV, if available.

If not, it's possibly your video card may be at fault. If you were OC'ing your video card, it may need to be reset back to normal speed as well. If you have a different video card or even built-in video on your motherboard, you could try using that connection as a test.
