Gtx 780 vs amd r9 290

The R9 290 is about the same as the GTX 780. The 780 is quieter and has slightly lower temperatures. For me this would not be worth the extra £50 so I got dual R9 290s and they are amazing!
AMD is probably going to be favored over NVidea in the future so I would go for that ;D

Me too,I think it is better.I ask this because some kid told me r9 290 is better,but it is not. They are almost the same,plus nvidia use better materials and they are just better then amd.If they aren't the amd would have bigger price also.
Anyway I think 780ti is better then both.

Neither AMD or nVidia make their own graphics chips . Both are manufactured in the same TSMC factories so , no , nvidia do not use better materials .
Parts on boards are down to the oem manufacturer .Gigabyte , nor any other oem , would be using worse components on AMD gpu boards .
So basically you are a fanboy , and dont seem to know much at all

As for relative performance at 1080p . The difference is so small that I would tend to buy on price and on the aftermarket coolers available at that price . Neither will be a wrong choice

At least I know better then you. My english is not my mother language,so sorry if I don't know how to explain something. And I am not fanboy,1 month back,I liked amd more,but because I study a lot about graphic cards I did see that Nvidia is just better. Nvidia vs amd is similar to intel vs amd. Amd try to do both so they are not best in any of that. Also amd cpu is only for budget people,while if you going over 250$ you will just have to agree that intel is better. Amd 8350 is weaker then i5-4690k and they are almost same price. And not to talk about i7-4960X or when intel release new 8 cores with 16 threads monsters. They are going to be beast. Anyway this was off topic but it was worth to say.
