What psu do you have? I don't think I've ever actually seen a real 250w. (500w bad ones that work like 250w I'm not counting :p )

Any link to it? I've actually never seen an asus barebones pc either lol.

The 430 doesn't use much power, I'm wondering if it'd work, even if the PSU was only really 150w.

Can you look at the PSU and look for a model or at least some information about the +12v rail?

A GeForce GT 430 needs 22 amps on the 12v rail and a 350 watt power supply , get the one I linked above , a killer deal.

It could be.

But we also don't know if OP is from the US or not. That EVGA could easily be unavailable for him. Considering that they are buying a very old GPU, I'm wondering that myself.

Guess we just wait for an answer :)

Edit: well seeing the build, looks like probably is from the US.

So where are you getting the gt 430 from?

If you have the graphics card in your house, just try it. That's just me though.

Your CPU is around 50w, that gpu is around 50w. Worth a try. :)

hmm, well it's hard to say. If you don't have much $ right now, it's probably best not to risk it.

If the graphics card ended up being too much for the PSU, you might have no computer and that really sucks :(

Your computer is very old as it uses IDE drives as well as DDR2 memory. You run XP/vista?

Well, that is why I wondered. I should have been more specific :p

I meant "your computer came with xp/vista?"

2gb of ram makes windows 7 really slow. I was asking all these questions because maybe instead of buying a new gpu, you can buy some newer motherboard+apu.

The integrated graphics will be much better than what you have now. Even if it's something old like FM2 AMD socket, or a 1156 socket. Just an idea.

i dont really know but when i first saw it it was with win7 it did not had any xp or vista stickers just and INTEL DUALCORE sticker dat's all i know i used to have vista from a friend in games no fps change but i think win7 is good the 32bit version the x64 pc freezes sometimes when lot of apps opened i keep windows 7 with full aero effects and no freezes no lags its all good
the question is should i test the gt 430 or i go safe with ati 6450 (i really want more performance i paly league of legends at lowest settins and 1024x768 resolution i want to have league of legends running at my natve resolutions and boost the setting from very low to low-medium
Thanks for the help toms hardware

and for the apu its costs 240euros motherboard plus apu AMD - A4-4020

Go with the 6450 100% ;)

You have any other cards you can get?

To be honest, it's quite odd. When I searched for the gt 430 on a 300w PSU, I got many threads saying not to try it.

Yet I check the r7 250 and get many recommendations to try it :S
http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1837912/radeon-s...

I'm beginning to think the 430 would have very easily ran on your system lol. Of course keep in mind there is always a risk with a bad PSU.

Like I said, I'm sure this is better than your other power supply.

You have 22A on your +12v which is actually not bad and from what I read it should be good.

http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm
Look at the difference between the r7 250 and the r7 250CF (croissfire)
50w difference between them, so one r7 250 = 50w. Your CPU is 65w. There is no way in hell it will even be above 150w for your whole system with this card.

As long you can fit the power supply in your case, get it and the r7 250.

you might want to edit that first swear word a bit more lol

Yeah that sucks he sold them. X-(

Going by this
http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm
It looks like the 610 needs less than the r7 250x even. Only 300w requirement. I would try it.

Lol
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gt...

Maximum watt for the gt 610 is 29w.......with your CPU added in to, you whole system will barely use over 100w. GET IT :p  it's your best option right now.
