4770k or fx 8350 for streaming and gaming

They are both great CPUs. I have had them both (AMD FX-8320 overclocked to past an 8350) and I would say Intel is much better for that if you can afford it. RAM performance goes up, as does CPU performance.

Socket am3+ is a dead end with no future upgrades. Some may say, get a 8350 and save for a gpu but I'd go for the 4770k regardless. Actually, you should get a 4790k as it has higher base clock speed and better thermal performance.

The FX 8350 can only match the 4770K at full load integer performance (like 2D video rendering). For tasks such as gaming, streaming and even 3D rendering (which depending on the render engine, most of the times runs on floating point calculations) the Intel wins hands down. That, added to the increased RAM bandwidth between the RAM and the CPU that the Intel architecture has, lets is easily pull ahead. Intel is the better choice if you have the money. And yes, there is a 4790K which comes at 4 GHz out of the box, and unlike the 3.5 GHz 4770k and it completely bashes the FX 8350. Cheers

Yep. I should have waited for the 4790k. It has a new TIM (Thermal Interface Module), so it can be cooler at 4.0-4.4 GHz at higher voltages than a 4770k at 3.5-3.9 GHz. Here is an article to refer to: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/core-i7-4790k-devils-canyon-overclock-performance,3845.html

Off topic:
I should have done the same, but when it comes to tech stuff...you could be waiting all your life as new, better hardware keeps being released as we save cash for the available stuff.

True. I literally bought the 4770K 16 days before the 4790K's release and I knew very well what I would miss. I hate being impatient. It sucks.

Ok thanks for the feedback.
I have 2 more questions now, what good and cheap mobo should i get and will cooler master 212 evo cool the 4770k or 4790k if im not doingany overclocking?

Don't get the 4790K or 4770K if you aren't overclocking. The 4790 would work perfectly fine.

Well i dont know if i could do alot of overclocking if i only have a 600w psu and a cooler master 212 evo, also I was looking at Asus H87 Plus motherboard, is it any good? And will i be able to run the cpu with a 4 pin power connector? (4790 that is)

Well, the Devil's Canyon CPUs work best on Z97, but you can run it there, overclocking and other features may be limited.

This is my first build thats why i have so many questions and a few havent been answered yet. Will i be able to run everything with a 4 pin power connector and not 8 and will cooler master 212 do a good job at cooling the cpu?

If you are overclocking, then yes, to an extent, but 8-pin would be better, 4 is fine, though. The Cooler Master 212 will only do a good job on Devil's Canyon (4690K, 4790K). It is a great build though, very good CPUs.

Thank you.
I think I'll go with:
i7 4790k
Msi z97 gaming 5
And Corsair H60 for cooling

What do you think about that? Will i be ok? I want to keep the cpu temp below 65-60C cuz i think my r9 270 makes plenty of heat..

That's good. My GPUs both run at full load between 57-61 and 59-63 respectively. That setup is great, you will be OK.

My gpu runs at 65-67 on load so yea.
If i get some extra money I'll grab a Corsair CS 750M and an H80i and overclock the hell out of the 4790k lel
But yea thank you for the help can't wait to build the new machine it will be awesome :)

Don't grab that PSU, it could burn out on you. Get a SeaSonic 550W or XFX 550W for best reliability. The H80i would keep that thing at like 50 C at full load at stock speeds.

Well my psu now has 600w and i have NO idea who made it so Corsair Cs750M gold plus is better for sure but if you have any suggestions for a 650-750w psu i would be glad to hear them. I need the extra watts for the 2 hard drives one ssd 6 fans and a 780ti because i dont think a 550w will do the job..

A 550W would be good, but 650 would be better. A SeaSonic 650W would be great.

The CS750M are good PSUs, as you say they are 80 plus GOLD also.
