Is it the cx500? If so, it is not the best quality unit and I would replace it, although 500w is enough. A good replacement would be an XFX550.

It probably would for some time, but no guarantees. Either risk it or get a quality unit as suggested. If you like corsair, get ax, hx, rm or tx. Or any xfx core 550w or above.

If you are willing to assume the risk, go for it. It is technically more than enough power.

Throw that powercool PSU away ASAP. That is 100% trash. I wouldn't let that sit near my computer. Lol.

No way to predict the chance. Probably, it will just shut down and cause no damage, but if the PSU has a capacitor failure (CX PSUs known for this) it could fry every single component.

I lost a motherboard/ CPU/ HDD/ GPU to a cx600 a few years back.

you already have an o/ced FX and with the 280x you will be really stressing a not that good psu, as already said. that cant be recommended.i would run the FX at stock speed till i get the replacement!

Always glad to help! My honest opinion is spend the $50 on the XFX550. Why risk everything in your system when it can be safe for only $50?

I would just put off another purchase for a bit in order to get the PSU ASAP.

Get the PSU now and then get the 8320 in 2 weeks or something.

Get psu, it is not even worth considering. It may save you a lot of nerves and money in the end.
