Hi,
Recently I have just built a PC with a Samsung 840 EVO 120 GB SSD. However, the drive did show up in the BIOS setup, but not after I installed my OS. In the instructions, it showed that I had to plug it in via usb and install it with a cd then put it in the case, but I have not done that. Is it because of this?

Solution
Ssd is meant for os installation. If you are just using it for storage or backup, that is not the point.

Install os to it, windows installer will see it. Currently to be seen you need to initialize it in disk manager and format it.

Is this the only drive in the PC? What drive did you install the OS to?

Alright, thanks! I had used the ssd for os installation from the start. I just wanted to know if my pc had recognized it or not, and it did!
