win 7 repair disk not booting

my bios has the dvd drive first, then the hd. i've tried on restart and on full shutdown and turn on. when it comes up, i hear the dvd drive do it's whirring and beeping, get a flashing "-" in upper left corner. screen goes to black for a few, then the windows logon screen comes up.

i have also dnlded a win 7 iso from proper channels. it won't put win 7 on my computer, but should contain the repair stuff. i burned the iso to dvd using an iso burning program. it won't boot either.

try hitting the spacebar at the boot time splash screens.
unless you have full screen logo showing you should see text at the bottom of the screene saying cd boot, press any key.....
it will add a new full stop every second for 5 seconds than start booting windows if it doesnt register a key press.

ok i did the spacebar, and it did go to a screen where i picked windows 7. which i did, and then it went to the logon screen. there is no writing at the bottom of the screen. i just hit the spacebar when the screen turns black. i get a screen where i can choose windows 7. i choose it and it goes to the logon. f10/f12 doesn't do anything for me, either.
