Hello ,

i bought my msi motherboard about 6 months ago
and it was working fine
yesterday i opened the case and cleaned the motherboard using air dryer and i enhanced the cable managment inside the case

then i closed the case and turned on the pc,
the fans works for 2 second and turn off and turn on again and so on

i tryed to reconnect the cables and change the cable mangement to what it was
finally the pc booted fine then i closed the case and tryed to boot again

everything works but nothing on screen and the mouse, keyboard are not working
i tryed everthing i could do like

removing the dedicated graphic card, and using the integrated
removing the battery and reput it
tryed another psu
test my ram in another computer

and you know nothing left but the motherboard

the problem is i bought my motherboard from the us and now i dont live in the us
so i cant use the warranty.

is there anyway that i can do it to make my pc work again
i dont wanna pay for a new one now
please help guys

Solution

Yes, it will. Try that and see if one, your CPU works in his, and if it does, try his CPU on your mobo. If that doesn't work, it is your mobo. If your CPU doesn't work in his mobo, then your CPU died. Good luck :)

HAIR DRYER? You probably damaged something on your motherboard from concentrated heat.

Oh. Reseat the CPU and if it has a POST display, tell me what it stops on.

I had the same problem took me a while to fix. I removed the CMOS battier for a few mins to reset the motherboard. after that my keyboard and mouse picked up and I was able to get into the bios. if you don't want to do that and have a PS/2 keyboard around you can try that. instead of the usb keyboard (assuming you have been using a usb not PS/2)
hope this helped

I came across an old computer the other day that sounds like the same issue you are having now. The motherboard had a bad capacitor causing the video card not to show and reboot a random intervals. Just double check the motherboard for any capacitors that might be bad.

Hold on a second, I'm having the same problems now after i tried to update som utilities and also the Live Updater to update the BIOS. Long story short, bought a new keyboard "Steelseries Apex", when i stumbled across the same problems i had been dealing with a while ago, the USB port would remain "unknown". So what i did was, since this was a problem i was familiar with, looking for a new USB update or something that might could sort out the problem but instead i got to the point where the Live updater 5 had major problems (according to "the people of the internet") so i tried to get the Live updater 6 which failed and after a while i tried to update Bios through an extern hard drive. The bios update went fine and everything seemed to work till i tried to reboot and my pc only starts its fans and light but neither screen or mouse/keyboard seems to receive anything. I am at the moment waiting for the motherboard battery to be out for some minutes so i can plug it back in and see if that helps. Any feedback would be wonderful since i don't want to buy new parts or anything. Is this a common issue now? Should MSI not look into there BIOS issues and help their costumers? I'm frustrated and could go on for hours about what have happened but i will end it here for feedback. Please someone hear my call for help and excuse my lousy english, I'm just a swedish youngster who barely knows how to operate a microwave and just built my first PC...

Thank you in advance!
