I bought a set of unused fans of ebay. I'm almost certain that they came off a CPU cooler. This would mean that they were static pressure fans. I was planning however, to use them to exhaust heat out of the back of my rig and into my room.

I thought that SP fans were only effective pushing air however, maybe I'm completely muddled, but I'd like to know if I can stick these on the back on my case and not have to worry, haha.

This is where I'd put it:

No, do not use them as an exhaust. They are only effective against HDD cages or radiators/heatsinks. They will perform poorly as an exhaust and the AF120/140 fans are the Corsair fans that you should use. They will also be loud if they are the grey versions.

You can use them as an exhaust, but they will be loud and not very effective.

They would work but Corsair states.

Corsair high static pressure fans (our SP line) are designed for use in restricted spaces. They’re ideal for radiator and heatsink use, as well as drive bay intakes and other locations where you’re mounting a fan directly adjacent to a heat source.
