How can I distinguish the case fan lead which is intended for the CPU fan from the leads for the other case fans? The leads are labeled with a rectangle on the left, a rectangle on the left, a rectangle on the right, and there is one more lead but I don't recall which of the three positions the label rectangle is in.

The images probably indicate the positions of the fans as you're looking at the side of your case with the front to your right. The leads with rectangles on the right are probably for you front fans and vice versa. I doubt there is a case fan lead for your CPU fan as they normally get plugged directly into your motherboard at the fan header labeled "CPU_Fan". There may be another header right next to it labeled "CPU_Opt" - that's for an additional CPU fan if you have one (as in a dual fan CPU cooler). The CPU fan header will normally be located above the CPU.

Normal setups have the CPU fan controlled directly from the motherboard by way of the bios. Fan speed is driven by the CPU temp. There are other setups for controlling the CPU fan, but I would do some research before attempting them as, if you get it wrong, you could fry your CPU.

Volcanoscout: Thank you very much. This fits - turns out there are just the right number of connectors with symbols in the correct positions to match the fans in the case. I was really more concerned about the CPU fan, and since NZXA gives no instruction on these in the case documentation (hint, hint, if you're reading this, NZXA) I was afraid one of these leads was for the CPU, as they were in a previous case. (That case wouldn't turn on the computer using the front switch unless the CPU was routed through it.) Anyway, thanks for the help.

Glad I could help. The folks here on Tom's have always been responsive and helpful when I've had questions, so I'm just paying it forward. Let me know if you need any more help with your fan setup or connections.
