using sound cards. im a noob at this plz help!

ok so im looking at sound cards... well specifically this 'creative sound blaster xtreme gamer hd audio card' im looking to trade someone my old case for this... well my question is will this card benefit me over my on board with a Asus Z87-pro motherboard???

Your Z87 will have an excellent integrated HD 7.1 sound.
I might buy a discrete sound card only if you have a good ear and outstanding speakers.

my z87 board comes with Realtek ALC1150 HD audio if that helps any

geofelt is correct, it is only worth it to buy a dedicated sound card if you have a very impressive speakers, the kind where the sound can shake your room. Otherwise using the built in sound card in your mobo will be fine.

well i do have a $350 samsug surround sound hooked up to my pc..... the bass is extremly deep
