Hi guys,
I am having some sound-related trouble with my "sound card". As many of you might know, the SupremeFX came with ASUS ROG Motherboards and is not really a dedicated sound card.
Well, the problem in question is that the sound intermittently comes and goes. It happens after shut down Windows and turn it on again, or restarting, or after putting it to sleep. It stays a long time without sound and out of the blue, there it is again.
I already verifies cables (I'm using the optical output with a TOSLink cable) and hardware (sound is working ATM). I am sure that the problem is driver related as I simply cannot un/reinstall said drivers. The drivers are already updated to the newest version and were taken from Asus Support website.
Oh, when I try to uninstall the driver (in Control Panel), I run into an InstallShield error: -5006 0x80004005 and it closes the install wizard.
My Mobo is a Crosshair 3 Formula and I am on Windows 7 64 bit.
Thank you very much for the help!
