So, I've been having this problem for quite some time now, and I have had no luck with solving it. I know that I only get these BSODs whenever I'm gaming --THE BSODs ONLY HAPPEN WHEN PLAYING DIRECTX-BASED GAMES!!! However, I can play any Direct X-based game for as long as I want after a fresh reboot with no interruptions. I know that my system will almost always experience a BSOD in the following situations:
1) If I Alt+Tab out of a game. The more I tab out of my game, the more stressed my system gets, which results in one of those BSODs.
2) If I've been playing different games. Let's say I play DayZ for an hour or two, then I go play some Borderlands for a bit. My computer will usually experience a BSOD sometime after switching to a different game.
3) If it's been on low load for awhile. Let's say I spend a few hours watching YouTube or Netflix, then I decide to hop on CS:GO for a game or two. I can expect a crash about 80% of the time here.
In all of these situations, my computer crashes due to changes in the level of stress placed on my system that it can't handle. Not just a high level of stress in general. So in order to fix this problem, I have tried the following solutions:
- using different driver versions (I've tried over 10 different ones)
- driver sweeper
- registry cleanup (CCleaner)
- disk defragmenter
- reinstalling Windows
- switching PSU, GPU, & HDD
- flashing Video Card BIOS & Motherboard BIOS
- running games in windowed mode (I haven't noticed any difference, still crashes)
- disabling AMD Graphics OverDrive
- uninstalling Catalyst Control Center
- lowering my GPU clocks (I use MSI Afterburner w/ 1000 MHz Core & 1125 MHz Memory)
- running Webroot SecureAnywhere System Optimizer
- disabling Aero Peek
- setting power plan to Maximum Performance & to never shut off display
- ran DxDiag
There are probably some others that I'm forgetting, hopefully someone will know what may work. I just need to know what I need to do in order to help my system "survive" the changes in the system load that it goes through as I game.

yeah, I have the latest beta drivers from AMD. I don't think there's any way I can manually update the two files if they are out of date or bad since they're a part of the driver package.

No, it only has one. I don't have access to another motherboard either. The only reason I'm hesitant to say it's not the hardware is because I only crash with DirectX games. In Battlefield 4 with Mantle will have framerate drops every now and then, which I believe are only caused by a few small bugs within the Mantle API.

I know for a fact it isn't the GPU. I had the exact same error with my previous card, and when I switched cards, nothing changed.

i don't think it's under warranty (at least anymore)

i could check, but is there anything else you could recommend me doing? since the crashes all relate back to dramatic changes in the load placed on the computer, don't you think that a good plan of action would be to keep the computer's clocks at a constant rate at all times? I've looked around before, but I don't know any ways of doing so. Do you think you might know how to do that? Sorry, I know all that was confusing. thanks!
