so here's my issue, i have an 07 hp a6130n desktop and as it's common knowledge it has an integrated gpu, well i just got a standalone gpu and put it in and the fan works but i don't know why the computer isn't reading it. i don't know what kind of gpu it is, i know it is a nvidia but i don't know where to look on the gpu to find out the model or anything.

Download GPU-Z and install and run that, it should give you an idea what the graphics card is, if it's working, if you've got everything plugged in on the inside of the case, and hooked up there, and have your monitor hooked up to the card, and you got signal, everything is working, GPUZ will tell you what's in there.

Are there spots on the card where you can plug power into them, they won't look like molex, but if there are you need to plug the card into the PSU, most mid - high end cards need more power than the motherboard can supply through the PCIE connector. If you've got everything plugged in, sounds like a dead card.

it is indeed a dead card. there's no other plug-ins, i actually bought it from goodwill for 5 bucks, so i'm gonna go exchange it for another, it's just a temp thing. eventually i'm gonna get rid of this desktop and build a gaming pc.

even though i don't know the model or anything it's a red card with a gold colored cool sync and it plugs right in to the motherboard and all, but i figured i would give it a shot considering the price, but thanks for your help, i've been puzzled by this all afternoon.
