I reset windows earlier today because my computer would stop outputting graphics after the Windows loading screen with the blue logo. Once reset, Windows would boot (and reboot) fine without any drivers installed so I doubt it's a hardware issue. After trying to install my chipset and graphics drivers however, Windows could not reboot and my computer stops outputting graphics after the loading screen with the blue windows logo again just like before. Even installing just one or the other will not work which is odd because everything worked fine when I put the computer together two weeks ago. I am running a MSI 760gma p34(fx) motherboard and a Gigabyte GTX 750ti 2GB (windforce cooler not twin-frozer if that makes a difference) with Windows 8.1 64-bit. Both drivers where obtained from the manufacturers' respective websites.

take the gpu out and see if windows boots on the onboard graphics. if it does then i'd say the issue is the gpu or gpu drivers.

Yes, but without the gpu, all my monitor shows is a no signal sign. Also, my computer on start up has now one long beep followed by two short beeps. I suspect that the motherboard's onboard graphics might be having issues.

according to MSI, 1 long beep and 2 short ones is a memory error/ram error.

And if you think about it your symptoms are pretty indicative of bad ram... Either your ram came loose in the motherboard, or one of the sticks went bad.

First pull the ram out of the board, and put the sticks back in. make sure they're firmly in the board. Try booting the computer and see what happens. If it won't boot, pull out all ram but one stick, try it in each ram slot on your board, one at a time. if the system won't boot, try the other stick... each slot... one at a time. if it boots with one stick and not the other, then you know which stick is bad. if it doesn't boot with either stick let us know and we'll help you narrow down other possibilities.

Thanks for responding, and I will try that ram check, but I just checked the MSI motherboard bios beep codes and 3 beeps means memory failure while one long and 2 short indicates monitor or display card error.

that's an award bios beep code error.

do you have an award bios?

because msi claims your motherboard gives one long beep and 2 short ones for memory errors.

Again thanks for responding. I tested each ram stick and slot but the PC still won't boot.

the chances two video card (the on board video and the 750ti) died at the same time are pretty slim... but i'd like you to find a another vido card somewhere and try it... or try your 750ti in another system.

if the 750ti works in another system i think we might be able to say your motherboard is toast. if it doesn't then it's the gpu.

probably... still the off chance this is all the psu's fault.

Hi I replaced the motherboard with a new one, and now the problem is that when I try to install the gpu'is drivers, halfway through the installation my screen goes black with a No Signal sign.

mmmm... well there really are only 2 parts it could be.

1) the PSU
2) the ram.

take your pick. if you have extra that you know work of any of those you can try them and see if the issue goes away. try someone elses psu for example. try to narrow down what's causing this. the fact the gpu works in another pc pretty much takes that off the list. so ram or psu is your issue.

Can the PSU be the problem? The black screen only occurs while I am installing the drivers. I have a EVGA 500B 500W 80PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V/EPS12V 500W Power Supply 100-B1-0500-KR. That should be more than enough power.

i don't know man. something is really wrong. if a new gpu doesn't work, the gpu works in another system, then it's not the gpu

a new motherboard changes nothing (have you updated the bios?)

that leaves only 2 possible things. ram or psu. your choice.

MSI has no Bios update, and I believe that the only possible reasons are either the ram or the drivers since the psu worked fine before.
