During boot up, the M/B gives error message that it cannot find a bootable device. I go into bios, manually select the HD with OS, then system then boots up normally. Once booted up, the computer functions normally. But next time I boot up, the same error happens again. I have tried clearing CMOS. I have tried disabling all HDs, CD drives, USB drives as bootable devices, EXCEPT the single bootable HD with OS. The M/B should see one and only one bootable HD. As I previously said, I built two other systems with same M/B, CPU, and main HD. But the other two systems do not have this problem. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Switching the ports may or may not work but give it a try. I was asking if it was SSD because I thought maybe the BIOS setting was set to IDE but It is AHCI by defualt where it should be. What version BIOS you running? Another thing that can be done is Flashing BIOS to a later version.

Here is the reason I told you to switch ports as it comes from your MOBO Manual.

Check the note near bottom :)

I switched SATA cable and SATA ports. I also flashed to newest BIOS. The problem persists. Any suggestions would be welcome. Is this a M/B problem or a SSD problem?

Additional info: this error usually does not occur with warm boot, or booting up again within a short time of shutting down. The error tend to occur between shutting down one day and booting up next day.
