Hello

I am currently getting atihdwb6.sys error when I am installing Catalyst Control center, I have just installed a new motherboard Asus M5A78L-M. I have set it all up and Installed Windows 8 (Upgrade from 7).

When trying to install CCC I am getting the blue screen, I have removed the old Catalyst control center and even removed it from the registry, I want to know what could be causing this?

Any help is very appreciated, thanks.

make sure u got the right VGA drivers installed, have the rams checked , but that just looks like a messed up driver so check out a final driver version "official not beta"

Did you load all the motherbds drivers? It doesnt sound like you did a fresh install but rather brought over an existing win7 from another board and tried to upgrade both board and OS in one go which usually doesnt work out so well.

I had a similar problem after running error-free for months with the same motherboard as you. For me the issue was with the ability for the video card to control a display connected to the onboard DVI slot. After I disabled that ability it went back to working fine.
