You will be fine with a decent PSU >=650 watts.Just make sure the power connectors to GPU have two separate 8-pin link.That is one power-hunger card!Nowadays anything above silver certified 650W will come with minimum of 50A on 12V rail.That shouldn'y be a problem.

Well...A 550 would be neck-cutting since we can't say what other parts he has.(HDD's,PCI-e cards etc).But generally a premium 650W would have the juice to power his needs,and that Card needs 2 8-pin power connectors.No molex-to-Power will do for that beast!

the xfx (seasonic) 550 are pretty nice you would just need a 6pin to 8pin adapter

I really do agree that at 650 you will get a better product if you by from a good manufacturer
I would trust this xfx before a cheaper brands 650 tho.
