http://pcpartpicker.com/p/WNP899 <---my current PC build.

I just want to be done with AMD. Their driver updates are just so crap and always cause problems with my windows boot ups. Catalyst Control center is just a big hassle.

The only parts I'm looking to upgrade are whatever it takes to remove AMD. So the CPU I guess? Also a decent nvida gpu would be nice. Nothing expensive. I'd say roughly a $200 budget.

EDIT: So the GPU is what I want to focus on. Alright. The CPU can wait for later.

If you really want to remove everything AMD, you will need a new CPU, GPU, and motherboard, which is pretty much impossible to do for $200 unless all 3 components are crap. Driver issues are only with the GPU, so if you really really hate them that much, just stick to a new Nvidia GPU and keep that CPU for the time being until you have more money, because you WILL regret it if you try to upgrade all 3 on that small of a budget.

With that being said, either a GTX 750 Ti or GTX 760 is your best bet.

You can get a refurbished GTX 760 for $219.99 which is a little over budget but it is a great card and usually $250 +, and the refurb comes from Newegg so you know it is quality. Or, there is the solid GTX 750 Ti, which is quiet, cool, and low power consumption still with solid performance on the new Maxwell architecture. If you want to get rid of AMD, that means new CPU, GPU, and Motherboard. I would also suggest a higher rated power supply.

A budget of $200 just isnt going to cut it.

Is the current video card a replacement for another? If so: Did you completely remove the old drivers before adding the new card?

Splendid
do you ise any overclocking software for your GPU.

here is my driver process:

uninstall msi afterburner and forget all settings

restart

unistall CCC

restart computer

install new drivers

restart

install msi afterburner

restart

it works

otherwise sell you AMD card and get a gtx 760.

2 out of 3 of my rigs are running NVIDIA, and I also own an Intel Haswell.

But I do own an HD 7850 overclocked to 1200/1500 and it can run 1080p games on ultra with ease. Your problems aren't the card. It's your POS rebranded Channel Well Trash PSU choking the GPU, and your suckier than sucky FX-4300 with single channel RAM bottleneck. Now I'm being a dick.

Thats the problem. AMD 14.4 will not install properly. It causes Winodws 7 not to boot up, then I have to launch a repair everytime and go back to 13.12. I need 14.4 to run Wolfenstein and Watch Dogs properly. I've uninstalled old AMD drivers, and even EVERYTHING with AMD. But when I download 14.4, oh jesus have mercy the flipping thing won't let me get past the Windows Boot Up screen.

I dont think he was trying to be a dick. Looking at the build you posted, you built your rig on a tight budget. You do get what you pay for when it comes to PC parts.

or we can all just admit that amd GPU drivers have sucked for while.

I run 2 7950's and I hate amd and there crao drivers and updates.

I miss my old gtx 560's but I like the price point of amd and I deal with it so that I can get more power for less money.

you need to chill on this guys rig.

Sorry I'm not a PC know-it-all? Hey as long as the the thing plays games, that's all I care about :D Which it does. Just that 14.4 isn't working properly.

Finally you have the correct name calling at least. Now let's start over.

If there is one thing to upgrade first, it's that PSU. No matter what else you upgrade the CX will always drag it down. Corsair only recommends this for granny's email machine, not to be used with discreet graphics or overclocked systems.

But speaking of overclocking, you leave quite a bit of free performance on the table here with both CPU and GPU. If you are interested, I can help you unlock your systems true potential. You should lso add another 8GB stick of RAM so that your memory controller is not bottlenecked by single channel.

If you don't think I can pull more performance out of there, just run Sky Diver and compare to mine.

Ok. Go for it. Sorry we got off on the wrong foot. Just got a tad bit hot headed there, my bad. You know what you're doing so spit it out on meh :p

I don't have any feelings, so none were hurt ^^

As soon as you upgrade that PSU, send me a PM and we will start a new thread about performance tuning your rig. That's my specialty. It's too dangerous to do it on that CX right now.

Pick an XFX, Antec HCG, or Rosewill Capstone. Those are moderately priced but built on tough platforms.

Quick question before you go, does my mobo need an upgrade at all?

IT will be fine for some medium overclocking, on FX-4300 ~4.5GHz or so should be safe enough. If it was a six or eight core I would say immediately get a better mobo. But in the interest of not spending money you don't have to, I feel confident enough in Gigabyte's 4 phase VRM (due to my past overclocking endeavors) to have some play room.

For 5GHz you will need one of these:

I'm a noob. What exactly is a clean install and how do you do it?
