I have a MOBO acer mcp73t-ad 32 bit, Dual Core procie. I recently purchased a 2gb ram ddr2 and already installed another 2gb ram a total of 4gb. My cpu won't get pass 70% of installation of 64bit os but it manage to read the 4gb ram. Is it not able to handle a 64bit os?

Solution

If your microprocessor does not support the 64 bit extensions the Windows installer will notify you at the very beginning and not allow you to proceed. If it is stuck at 70% this indicates either a bad hard disk drive or a bad DVD
