Hi, im currently planning on building a in home steam streaming set up and would like some advice on the parts i have picked for the build.
As i have never used steam streaming before i would like to ask the community if this build would either be overkill or not sufficient to play games at max settings at 1080p on my tv downstairs.

The main pc im will be streaming from is.

Amd 8230 @ 4.6ghz
8Gb patriot viper ram @2133mhz
Asus r9 290x

The parts im thinking of buying for the build downstairs are

AMD A10 7700K Black Edition Quad Core CPU + Integrated Radeon R7 Series Graphics
Gigabyte GA-F2A88XN-WIFI FM2+ Motherboard
Corsair Memory XMS3 8GB DDR3 1333 Mhz CAS 9 Dual Channel Desktop
Toshiba DT01ACA050 500GB SATA 3 Hard Drive 32MB cache 7200rpm HDD
CiT MTX-007B Black Mini-ITX Case with 180W PSU

Any adivce on this would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Yeah I'd agree with you on that mrsnazzypants, the whole point is to have a simple PC setup downstairs with the beast in the attic.

There are forums talking about successfully using a simple NUC as the receiver. I'm going to test it on my old i3 laptop this week and I'll get back to you.

A gtx 770 or r9 280x seems very overlkill for steam streaming, the whole point of steam streaming is that the primary PC does all the work rendering the frames then the secondary PC just displays the already rendered image.
