Hello,

I am new here at Tom's Hardware, and I would like to get some tips on if I should keep working on it or scrap it and build from scratch. I intend to be playing games on 1080p, and the games I want to play are like Battlefield 3 & 4 , Need for Speed, Tomb Raider etc. I upgraded some components; I found it w/o ram, gpu, or hdd.

Specs are (For Optiplex)

Core 2 vPro (e8400 @ 3.00 ghz)
Nvidia Geforce 640 (2gb ddr3, ZOTAC)
4 gb crucial ddr2 @ 800 mhz
320gb hdd.

Right now, I have found some ddr2 ram and put it in pc, and only thing I bought was gt640. It was only 90 dollars out of my pocket. Is this build sufficient or should I wait, and make a home build when I get sufficient funds.

Solution
The 640 won't be enough for 1080p gaming, and that ddr2 ram might give you some performance hit, although I'm not so sure...you can always give them a little OC boost, just in case...

Might be a nice machine for very lightweight gaming or retrogaming, but battlefield 3-4 at 1080p, or anything else you pointed at, I highly doubt it...
