I am torn between these two processors, FX 8350 or I5 4670k. I will be playing games such as BF4, TF2, CoD, Minecraft and Battlefield Hardline (when it comes out). My GPU is a r9 280x by the way!

Xeon 1241 will fit in nicely... I got one, works just fine and it costs the same as 4670k.

I would go for the i5 or the Xeon 1231 V3.

Why would you be torn, the 4670k is obviously the better processor, the only reason you would ever pick the 8350 would be outside of gaming requirements or budget concerns. If both are in the budget the 4670k is the better for a gaming rig.

i5 4670k will better serve the purpose, as it has 20%+ better per thread performance.
Overall the Game Suite wouldn't use more than 2-3 cores. Therefore definitely per thread performance will matter a lot.

I am using FX 6300, it works well with multi-threaded applications (quite high work load of documents and videos processing). So in my case FX 6300 was the best choice. However if I were building a PC for gaming etc., i5 4670K would be my choice.

I agree with the Xeon E3-1241 V3, as it's essentially an i7 for i5 money. The 4670k and 8350 have the overclocking advantage, but it's hit and miss as to whether it improves gaming performance. Some games will benefit whilst others won't.

The 8350 is a good processor for multi-threaded applications and is considerably cheaper, but single-threaded performance isn't great and the AM3+ socket it uses is probably due for a refresh soon.

Between the two, the i5 gets my recommendation, but the Xeon is the one I'd actually buy.

That Xeon would be nice, but it's locked and your motherboard may not support it. Also, for a mostly gaming rig, hyper-threading may not be of much use to you. If your motherboard can support it, and you don't plan on over clocking, the Xeon may be the best bang for your buck.
