I am wanting to build a gaming PC for as cheap as possible for my wife. She plays the Sims 3 on my laptop but it slows down from time to time. The Sims 4 is out soon and she will be wanting to play it but I'm pretty sure the laptop won't handle it.

So can somebody put together a PC to run The Sims 4 on High or Max settings for as cheap as possible. Monitor, mouse, keyboard and OS are not needed.

Thanks.

Hello IshTing, regardless if you want to build with Intel or AMD, your best bet is to go with a value chipset (such as B85 for Intel). You will be limited to processor and RAM, but it's sounds like you will not need much.

If you are leaning Intel, select a B85 budget board with an i3 or i5 processor. You will not need much RAM (no more than 4GB I would think) or storage (500 GB or less), and you can use a lower-end GPU and be perfectly fine, such as the ASUS 5450 card.

Let me know if you would like any other advice! :D

The SIMS 4 are coming out on September and EA hasn't announced the system requirements yet so we can't know for sure. I'm guessing that a 400$-500$ Pc would be good enough to max out the game. I'm not gonna post any specs though since it would be better to wait for the official announcement.
