computer crashing randomly PLEASE HELP!

Ok so about a week ago installed a new motherboard and processor, choosing to move away from AMD to intel, so i brought an MSI Z97 gaming 5 motherboard, and a 4690 s intel processor, however, over the last couple of days I've been experiencing crashes of sorts, which don't result in blue screens or anything like that, but rather the screen will completely freeze, and whatever sound was playing will be looped at an incredibly fast pace, after about 20 seconds, the problem will stop, but moving the mouse will start it again, giving me no choice but to turn it off and start again. I've kept a close eye on the temps of my hardware and everything seems perfectly fine, I've updated all of my drivers to their latest versions and today, after turning it on, it froze almost straight away, (usually only freezes during games) if anyone can help me with this it would be much appreciated, thank you!

Also, if any of you need to know any other details about my hardware, just ask and ill give it to you, my PSU is an 850 watt arctic blue

I have a MSI GTX 760, i should also mention that I never had this problem with my old mobo and CPU

Do you still have them? If so, try the old GPU in the system, and if that doesn't work, try the old motherboard. It could be something installed in your OS.

i reinstalled my old motherboard and CPU, then i no longer have the problem, however I have sold this to a friend and I only borrowed it off of him to test, do you think it is more likely to be a hardware of software problem?

If it doesn't happen with the old motherboard and CPU, it could be an issue with this one. Clear your CMOS and see if that helps.
