Trying to install drivers for my new graphics card!

My old graphics card broke, and for some reason even when connecting through VGA my PC doesn't want to enable the on-board graphics to let me install drivers for the new card I have bought and inserted into the computer.

This is the card I have purchased:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-GeForce-GTX650-2GB-384Bit-DDR3-PCI-E-3-0x16-DVI-HDMI-Graphics-Video-Card-UK-/231239329273?pt=UK_Computing_Computer_Components_Graphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW&hash=item35d6f025f9

I'm currently using TV-out on the PC so I can try and get the damn thing installed however when I download drivers from Nvidia, it runs the installer and says
'NVIDIA Installer cannot continue,
this NVIDIA graphics driver is not compatible with this version of windows.
This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware'.

Has anyone had this problem before? Anyone able to help at all?

I'm running windows 7 64 bit.

Cheers!

Go to Programs and Settings and uninstall any Geforce or NVidia program there.

Apologies, I should've said I have already done that. Still shows up in Device manager though.

EDIT:Finally!! 3 reboots later and it seems to be gone

It should, because it has the driver in the BIOS. Uninstall, shut down, take out the GPU, put the new one in, boot up, and install. It should work. If not, for the best stability, wipe or Refresh your system.

Is the GPU running? Are you outputting from the new card? Do you have all of the power hooked up? Make the new card default GPU.

Well the fans are running and I do have the power hooked up. Currently im using TV-out as the new card doesn't give any signal. How do I make it the default?

Cheers for your help btw!

Make sure it is tightly connected in the motherboard. Try it in another PCIe slot.

I've reconnected it (I only have one PCI-e slot) however still no signal.

Do you have another PC you could test it in? It could be a dead card.

Okay go into your gpu and look at the ports. Use a monitor with vga/dvi and see if that works. From my experience, ports that aren't those two seem to have problems (like tv-out, displayport, hdmi etc). the reason your computer is unable to see the new GPU is because you either aren't plugging in the aux power (if there is any) or you aren't using the card when you boot up. If you don't use the GPU in the bios, it'll default to the iGPU that your cpu has built in and thus you will not be able to do anything with your GPU until you boot up using it.

This is quite difficult for me to try and troubleshoot as my keyboard has just decided to give up so I'm not able to enter the BIOS. I have gone into display settings while I'm plugged in via TV-out (also plugged in to a separate monitor via HDMI which shows no signal) and the only option I have is 1.Display device on VGA.

When I try to connect via HDMI I get no signal, I presume it was due to the drivers thinking I have incompatible hardware and not installing.

Get a new keyboard and probably a new GPU given your symptoms so far.

I have already tried it without TV-Out and I get no signal. I've tried it with DVI and HDMI, The only way I can even see anything on my screen is with TV out

try this

use the tv-out only.
go into the bios
look for integrated graphics settings (typically under the system settings portion)
disable the iGPU.
reboot.

now
try using the dvi ports. tell us if it works

No problem. Tell us the outcome of the steps above to see if we can figure out your problem. If that doesn't work then try a different gpu that you may have lying around.

I haven't got it fixed yet, still trying to hunt out a keyboard. I have no GPU's lying about, only my old one which I assumed was broken however the exact same problems appear to be happening with my new one.

Huh. Could be either your PSU or your mobo. Use different connectors and try Molex to PCIe.
