how to recover and boot windows 8 with a dual boot with XP

for some reasons i had to dual boot my laptop with windows 8 (my current OS) and windown XP (for school project). is had partitioned my laptop before installing windows 8 before so i had an partitioned space for the XP. but after is finished installing windows xp and i checked my windows 8.. it doesnt boot with windows 8 anymore. only the windows XP is recognized as operating system.

how can i fix this i need help., i have many important files on my windows 8 drive....:(

When doing dual-boot, the recommended order of installation is from oldest to newest OS (that is, you should have install XP first, then Win8).

Boot with your Windows 8 DVD, and perform boot repair operations.
YOu can also try repairing the boot with EasyBCD utility.

but my laptop has pre installed windows 8 already.,
