I've been getting this usb overcurrent message when I turn the pc on and then it shuts down. I have tried unplugging the front usb connectors from the motherboard but that didn't work. Please help I don't have much money to get a new one.
You have disconnected the front USB so it cannot be them, though a short on them could have damaged the motherboard or the PSU.
The rear USB ports are soldered onto the motherboard so a fault on them would manifest as a motherboard problem.
If they were USB headphones then it is feasible they caused a short on the 5 volt line this could well have damaged the motherboard USB controller chip.
If you have no usb devices plugged in and are still getting an over current warning then the problem can only be the Power supply or the motherboard unfortunately.

Are you sure? It was working fine before. It first happened when my brother tripped over my headset wires connected into the front panel usb. Could it be the back usb?
