Hi guys, I'm looking for a new gaming monitor but I really can't decide which one to buy.
My system specs are:
VGA: Asus gtx 780 Strix 6gb
CPU: intel i5-4690k
Ram: 8gb corsair vengeance low profile 1866mhz CL9
Mobo: Asus z97i plus

My maximum budget is of 300-350 euro, but obviously the less I spend the better it is.
I can't figure out which is the best between IPS monitors with 2-5ms response time and 60hz refresh rate and TN one with 144hz and 1ms such as the Asus VG248QE, review and opinions are too contradicting. I'd like a 23-24" monitor, better if 24. I play mostly MMO, but I do like FPS such as battlefield, and I'm going to play also Watchdogs. I also do not know if monitors with higher resolution than full HD are worth the extra money, and if there's such one in my price range.

144hz and 1ms is great if you have the GPU to push out that framerate. If not, a 60Hz 1 ms monitor is great. The 144 could be used at 60 Hz most likely if needed.

Don't you think my GPU could handle the framerate at 144hz?

If you turn down the settings, yeah. That CPU could handle it too. A GTX 670 could hit 200 at lowest settings, the 70 could hit that at medium settings or so, just turn down AA. You could also go down to 120Hz. Great setup, though.

But is the loss of color richness brought by TN panels worth the higher fps and smoothness given by 144hz monitors, given the kind of games i'm gonna play? (mostly MMO, and just randomly FPS )

That will be fine unless you NEED the extra color, but you are probably fine.
