Hey everyone-

I'm trying to install SLI in my computer. Here are the relevant tidbits:

Intel i7 3770
2x EVGA GTX 760 graphics cards
ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Motherboard
Rosewill 850W Power Supply
Windows 8.1

I initially did the straightforward thing: install both graphics cards and connect them with the SLI bridge. When I turned on the computer, however, the BIOS wouldn't even come up and the "Dr. Debug" on the motherboard showed error code 55.

Ok, maybe something got bumped around when I installed the Graphics cards. I took out the RAM and reseated it, making sure it was secure. Attempted to start the computer again but the same error code came up.

Next I took out the second graphics card and the computer started up fine. I checked the motherboard's BIOS version and found there has been a more recent version released. I updated it to version 2.90 and tried again with both cards, but with no luck and the same error code.

It still works fine with one graphics card but I'm confused about why putting in the second gives the error code 55. I read somewhere that I could have a bent pin on the CPU so that's my next attempt.

Does anyone have any other ideas of what could be going wrong?

Thank you!

What happens if you put 1 card in the 2nd slot, but nothing in the 1st?

Ah yes, I tried that too. Still came up with the same error code. I also tried both cards in the 1st slot to see if maybe I got a bad card but they both worked fine there.

It sounds like something is wrong with the 2nd pci-e or something is not right with the settings in the bios if the 2nd slot doesn't work at all on it's own.
